AC Repair and Zoned System Service in Scottsdale, AZ
From Old Town to Troon and DC Ranch, Scottsdale homes tend to run zoned or multi-system layouts. We service, repair and design for that reality rather than treating every house as a single-unit box.
Uneven Cooling and the Other Scottsdale Complaints
Four situations that put a technician in a driveway, and what we do about each one.
No cooling, and the house is climbing
Every hour without cooling costs you several degrees inside. Waiting on a callback is the expensive part of the day.
Common failure parts ride on every truck, so most no-cooling calls finish on the first visit rather than after a parts order.
A quote that moves while you talk
Three estimates, three tonnages, three closing scripts. The number tracks the conversation instead of the house.
TrueQuote AI runs a real Manual J online and prices the equipment that fits. Nobody sits in your living room to show you a number.
Plumbing that gets worse by the hour
A slab leak soaks a foundation, a burst supply line ruins flooring, a sewer backup makes a house unusable.
Emergency plumbing runs on the same dispatch board as our HVAC trucks, flat-rate quoted before anyone starts cutting.
Told to replace when a repair would hold
Replacement is the default recommendation when the person quoting it is paid to close the sale.
We run the diagnostic first and show the repair-versus-replace math honestly, including when the cheaper answer is the right one.
What We Offer on Zoned and Multi-System Homes
Large multi-wing homes here usually need zoning or a genuine dual-system design, and we settle HOA screening rules before the equipment decision rather than on install day.

How We Work, Step by Step
Four steps, and the price is settled at step three. Nothing starts until you have the number.
Tell us what is happening
Call, text, or start a TrueQuote online. On an emergency we talk you through shutting off water or power while a truck is dispatched.
We diagnose before we quote
Electrical readings, subcooling and superheat, static pressure on HVAC. A camera inspection on drains and sewer lines.
One flat number, before we start
Parts and labor in a single figure, explained plainly. You decide with the price already in front of you.
Work done and warrantied
Most repairs finish in one visit. Completed work carries a parts and labor warranty, with the manufacturer warranty on top for new equipment.
Ready to Book, or Still Deciding?
Run the load calc yourself, free. If you book a diagnostic instead, the $89 comes straight off the repair.
How We Compare to a Typical HVAC and Plumbing Contractor
| What matters | Typical provider | Comfort Pros |
|---|---|---|
| Getting a replacement price | In-home appointment with a commissioned salesperson | TrueQuote AI online, load calc to purchase, nobody in your living room |
| How the price is set | Hourly plus parts, total unknown until the work is done | One flat number covering parts and labor, quoted before we start |
| Sizing a new system | Rule of thumb from the old unit, usually oversized | Manual J load calculation against a real local design temperature |
| Common failure parts | Ordered, return visit required | Carried on every truck, so most calls finish in one visit |
| If a cheaper repair will hold | Replacement quoted by default | We show the repair-versus-replace math and let you pick |

What Scottsdale Customers Say
Signed up for the $9.99 membership after the $27 tune-up. Victor caught a capacitor that was reading way under spec in April - would have failed in the middle of summer. Worth it just for that.
The only company that ran a real load calc instead of quoting from square footage. Saved over $3,000.
Two hours on a 117-degree Saturday, part on the truck, done by dinner. No games on the price.
Old Town to Troon Is a Real Distance
Scottsdale is long and narrow, and the drive from Old Town to Troon is a genuine trip. We route the city in two bands: the southern band, Old Town and McCormick Ranch come off the 101 and Scottsdale Road, while DC Ranch, Troon and the northern foothills run through the 101 North and Pima.
Calls up north get grouped deliberately during summer so a truck is not making the round trip twice in an afternoon. Calling early in the day genuinely changes what slot you can get in July.
Most addresses here sit in APS territory, which affects rebate paths on high-efficiency replacements. We confirm before quoting.
Large Footprints Need More Than One Unit
Scottsdale homes are often big enough that a single system was never the right design. When a 4,500 square foot house with a west-facing great room and a separate guest wing runs off one condenser, the result is predictable: the master is cold, the great room never catches up, and the system runs constantly trying to average the difference.
The fix is usually zoning or a genuine dual-system layout. Both require an actual room-by-room load calculation rather than a square-footage estimate, because the west exposure and the glass area are doing most of the work in the number.
The northern foothills add elevation and desert exposure to that calculation. Higher elevation changes air density and therefore airflow, and unshaded desert lots put a different heat load on the envelope than a mature-landscaped McCormick Ranch property does.
Then there is the HOA question. Many communities here govern where rooftop and side-yard equipment can sit and how it must be screened. That constraint has to be settled before an equipment decision, not discovered on install day. We handle that conversation up front.
Two Systems Means Two Tune-Ups
If your home runs two or three systems, seasonal maintenance is not one visit. The $27 Tru Tune-Up is priced per unit for exactly this reason, and the Care N'Comfort membership is priced per unit too, so a three-system home runs $29.97 per month with priority scheduling across all three.
Multi-system homes also fail asymmetrically. The unit serving the west side of the house does far more work and reaches end of life years before its twin. We track that when we service, so you are not surprised by a replacement conversation about one unit while the other has a decade left.
