Seventeen Years, Two States, One Rule About Pricing
Founded in 2009 as Green Technology Systems, renamed Comfort Pros in 2018, and still owner-operated. The short version: we took the salesperson out of the replacement process and left the technicians in it.
It Started With Watching Quotes Change Mid-Conversation
Armen Vartanian founded Comfort Pros in 2009 with one truck out of Gilbert. He had come up in the trades working with his father and uncles, gone full time in 2006, and spent enough time in other people's homes to notice a pattern he didn't like. The price of a system replacement moved depending on how the conversation in the living room went.
Flat-rate pricing fixed half of that. The other half was sizing. A homeowner with an 1,800 square foot house in Chandler was routinely being quoted five tons of cooling because five tons pays better than three and a half, and nothing in the process forced anyone to prove otherwise. Manual J load calculations existed, but they were rarely run and almost never shown to the customer.
TrueQuote AI is the answer to that. Run the load calculation online, see the equipment that genuinely fits your home, and buy it without an appointment. There's no upsell attached because there's nobody in the room to deliver one. Armen still reviews the calculations himself on complex replacements. That's an odd thing for an owner to spend time on, and it's exactly why the sizing holds up.
Today that runs across two states. Arizona out of Gilbert covering Maricopa and Pinal Counties, California out of La Crescenta covering Los Angeles and Ventura Counties. Separate crews, separate phone lines, identical standards, and equipment that includes GreenTek, our own line built by Daikin for these two climates specifically.
Seventeen Years, Six Turning Points
Founded as Green Technology Systems
The company Armen Vartanian started in 2009 was called Green Technology Systems - one operation out of Gilbert, working the East Valley. The pricing model was flat-rate from day one, mostly because Armen had watched too many invoices grow after the work started.
GreenTek comes aboard
The GreenTek brand joined the company in 2015, and grew into our own equipment line - built by Daikin to a specification that assumes Arizona and California conditions rather than a mid-continent design temperature.
Becoming Comfort Pros
After acquiring Healthy Air Systems and several other local shops, the growing operation took one name for everything it had become: Comfort Pros. Same owner, same crews, same flat-rate model - a name that finally matched the scope.
California operation opens
A second base in La Crescenta, licensed CA C-20 #1040927, covering the Crescenta Valley, San Gabriel Valley and the eastern side of Los Angeles.
TrueQuote AI goes live
A homeowner can now run a real Manual J load calculation, see correctly sized equipment, and buy it online. The in-home sales pitch stopped being part of our process.
Two states, one standard
Licensed and insured in Arizona and California, with the same diagnostic-first, no-upsell process on both sides of the state line - and Armen still reviewing load calculations on complex replacements.
Four Rules That Don't Move
The quote is the invoice
Flat-rate pricing settled before work begins. If we find something else, we stop and re-quote rather than adding it silently.
Diagnose before quoting
A multi-point diagnostic on HVAC, a camera in the line on drains and sewers. Nobody here quotes from symptoms.
Say when the cheap answer is right
A $27 tune-up instead of a replacement, a $200 capacitor instead of a compressor, snaking instead of jetting. We would rather keep the customer.
Licensed where you live
AZ ROC 364742 and CA C-20 #1040927, insured in both. Not a subcontractor arrangement dressed up as coverage.

What Customers Say About Working With Us
AC went out on a Saturday afternoon in July - 117 degrees. Called Comfort Pros and Dyango was at our house within two hours. Diagnosed the issue, had the part on his truck, and we were cool again by dinner. Fair price, no games.
Used the TrueQuote tool to price a full system replacement. I'd already gotten three in-home estimates from bigger companies - Comfort Pros was the only one that didn't try to sell me a 5-ton unit for a 1,800 sq ft house. Saved over $3,000.
We moved from Phoenix to Burbank and needed a plumber the second week. Turns out Comfort Pros operates in California too - same quality, same honesty. Joe handled our water heater swap and was done in half the time I expected.
