What brings people to us here ## Four Thousand Oaks situations we run every week Real failure modes at this address - not generic copy. ### Conejo Valley tract housing and high-SEER heat pumps Newer Thousand Oaks tract homes often run multi-zone high-SEER heat pump systems from the original build. Refrigerant line set sizing and communication wiring need a tech who has worked these setups, not a generic residential crew. OEM-trained diagnostic on Carrier, Lennox, Trane and Rheem heat pumps. Subcooling and superheat under load, communication error log review, and a real conversation about repair vs replace before quoting. ### Custom builds and ductless retrofits in North Ranch and Lake Sherwood Custom builds in North Ranch, Lake Sherwood and Dos Vientos often have additions, casitas, and guest houses that cannot extend the original ductwork without major remodel. A ductless mini split handles the new space from a single outdoor unit. Load calc on the new space, line set routing that respects the existing structure, and a single-system design that talks to the rest of the house through a smart thermostat. ### Slope-side water pressure and PRV replacement Hillside homes in the Conejo Valley see pressure swings from elevation and street main pressure. A failed PRV drives incoming pressure high enough to damage fixtures, water heaters and washing machine hoses. Pressure test on every fixture, PRV replacement with a properly sized unit, and a clear answer on whether pressure reducing is the right call or the home needs a different pressure tank. ### Coastal valley heating and the real winter demand The Conejo Valley runs cooler than inland LA in winter and warmer than coastal LA in summer. Heating bills climb on older furnaces and heat pump sizing needs Manual J on actual winter design temps, not coastal defaults. Heat pump conversation on the replacement quote, with TrueQuote online price for both options. SCE rebate eligibility reviewed before equipment choice. A diagnostic visit runs $89, and that fee applies toward the repair if you move forward. Parts and labor are quoted as one flat number before any work starts. The $27 Tru Tune-Up covers a full system inspection, and the Care N'Comfort membership at $9.99 per month per unit includes a seasonal tune-up plus priority scheduling (2026 rates). ### What is the $5000 rule for AC replacement? Multiply the age of your AC unit by the estimated repair cost. If the result exceeds $5,000, replacement typically makes more financial sense than repair. Our technicians run the repair-versus-replace math with you on every call so you can decide with real numbers in front of you. ### What is the 3 minute rule for air conditioning? After shutting off your AC, wait at least three minutes before turning it back on. Restarting too quickly forces the compressor to work against built-up refrigerant pressure, which can damage the motor over time. ### Do you service Westlake Village, Newbury Park, and Lake Sherwood? We cover all of the Conejo Valley including Westlake Village, Newbury Park, Lake Sherwood, Dos Vientos, and North Ranch on our same-day schedule. Our Ventura County trucks run the US-101 corridor from Woodland Hills through Thousand Oaks weekly. ### What are the most common residential AC repairs? The three parts that fail most often in Conejo Valley homes are dual run capacitors, pitted contactors, and refrigerant leaks. We carry these parts on every truck, so most air conditioning repairs finish in a single visit without a parts-order delay. ### Still have a question? Call the team in your state and talk to someone who actually works on these systems. Called Comfort Pros and Dyango was at our house within two hours. Diagnosed the issue, had the part on his truck, and we were cool again by dinner. Fair price, no games." Rachel M. \- Comfort Pros customer > "Used the TrueQuote tool to price a full system replacement. I'd already gotten three in-home estimates from bigger companies - Comfort Pros was the only one that didn't try to sell me a 5-ton unit for a 1,800 sq ft house. Saved over $3,000." Tony K. \- Comfort Pros customer > "We moved from Phoenix to Burbank and needed a plumber the second week. Turns out Comfort Pros operates in California too - same quality, same honesty. Joe handled our water heater swap and was done in half the time I expected."
